Larry Maxim was born and raised in central Maine (yes that accent is real) on a potato farm, part of which is now the Mofga fair grounds. He received a Bachelor of Science in Plants and Soils Sciences from the University of Maine in 1980 and started landscaping in 1983.

Downeast Landscape & Design, Inc. is a landscape construction company doing all sized projects from a single memorial tree to complete new house construction landscapes. We do all phases of planting and hardscape in house, specializing in old fashioned dry laid fieldstone and granite walls. I have purposely tried to keep the size of the company manageable so that I am not only the person who you meet with, estimates and designs the projects, but will also be working with my crew on each project. I have found this allows me to maintain the utmost in quality, but also permits the homeowner the ability to adapt the design and let the project evolve as we proceed with the construction. We try to use organic fertilizers and other organic products whenever possible.

Down East Landscape & Design, Inc. guarantees for one year from planting date the trees and shrubs it provides and installs and that have been properly maintained. No guarantees on plant material which has died due to neglect, or damage caused by insects, mice, deer, porcupines, snow plows, or ice and snow breakage, etc. No over wintering guarantees on perennials, hybrid tea roses, or any non zone hardy plant material. No guarantees on lawn grass seeding or sodding.
